Newhall cup & saucer with black bat print of cattle, horses & deer, c. 1820
$195.00 AUD
Newhall ‘London’ shape cup & saucer, tastefully decorated with bat prints including horses, cattle & a stag before a country house, within gilt rim & handle details.
Unmarked, c. 1820
saucer 14.5cm
Condition: small area of wear to gold inside cup, otherwise excellent
For the main saucer print, ref. transfercollectorsclub.org #20,393 – recorded as John & William Ridgway, 1820-30, ‘Three Cows’ pattern no. 2/959.
However, the cup shape, porcelain type, and handle gilt trim is all consistent with Newhall bat prints of the same period.
The print is apparently not recorded on the TCC as Newhall.
The ‘Stag & Country House’ print on the cup is also not on the TCC database.
