The Noisy Scrub-bird was once wide-spread in Western Australia, and is closely related to the Lyre Bird. Its call is quite dramatic, earning it the name.
In 1961, a single bird was spotted just east of Albany; a remnant population was discovered, and it became the most sought-after rare bird in Australia for the next few decades.
