Norma Catherine Bull (1906 -1980) was an Australian painter, printmaker and etcher, training at the National Gallery of Victoria Art School. She is best known for the paintings and sketches she made in Britain during World War II as an official War Artist. In 1947, an exhibition of her 205 wartime works entitled “Two Hemispheres”, opened at Australia House in London. Many remain in major collections in England including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Imperial War Museum and the Royal Collection. Norma Bull returned to Australia and in 1948, the “Two Hemispheres” exhibition toured Australia. Later, she returned to Victoria as an art teacher. She is represented in numerous Australian collections including the NGV and a fine collection at Bright, one of her favourite places.
