Nyonya – Peranakan – Straits Chinese porcelain bowl, well painted with a continuous frieze of Phoenix amongst flowering plants, a crane to the interior, the rims with a Chinese fret border in red.

Also known as Nyonya , Nonya, Peranakan, these particularly decorative wares were in demand in South-East Asian Chinese communities from the mid 19th century onwards. They are actually from the Chinese ceramic production center of Jingdezhen, made for the SE Asian market.
