Pair of rare Arts & Crafts brass copper and ebony candlesticks, by Christopher Dresser, the domed copper bases with brass column decorated with two orbs, a rectangular handle with ebony rib to one side, the brass sconce surrounded by flower petal rimmed drip pan.
After an 1885 design by Christopher Dresser, probably manufactured by Benham & Froud.
Registered Mark to nut beneath, ‘RD63791’, for 1886
Circa 1886
Condition: signs of age original lacquer surface in places, the remainder with nice antique glow, woodwork with some marks. Overall a fine pair of desirable Dresser designs, in original condition.
