Pair of Japanese Imari vases, richly decorated in underglaze & iron red with a pine & pheonix design.

Circa 1890

Condition: These are a pair, as the decoration is identical in every respect, but one is slightly bulkier than the other. Bases are the same size, but shoulder and rim of one is larger due to being hand potted and not mould-made. Good antique condition with minor wear to gold only, the larger with firing discolouration inside lip, no restoration.
