Magnificent pair of Japanese Imari plates, richly painted in underglaze blue, iron red & gold with central rondel depicting vases of peonies on a platform, within an intricate rim of blossom, chrysanthemum & peonies reserved on blue panels, the reverse with underglaze branches and orange flowers.
Original ‘stilt marks’ scars to rear,
unmarked, Circa 1700.
