Several pattern numbers have been sighted using this same underglaze blue transfer, including 24 and 27 (this example) as identified on the transcollectorsclub.org web database. In their write-up for #24, they include Godden’s reference to a service (in Godden’s ‘Ironstone’ 1999, p. 229, Plate 175 ) – but the coloration (although black & white in the book) is different enough to suggest it is in fact another pattern – a shame that service didn’t have the pattern number recorded in the publication!
A set of 12 plates sold at Christies in 2016 for a rather extraordinary $6,000 !
