Pair of Sterling silver sugar tongs, the arms with elaborate openwork patterns looking like rope, the plain join with engraved edges & initials ‘MC’.
Hallmarked with Sterling Lion + ‘TP/AH’,
This makers mark was registered in July 1780 to the partnership of Thomas Pratt & Arthur Humphries with the partnership dissolving on the death of Humphreys in early 1785 at just 28 years of age.
