Pair of ‘Sydney Souvenir’ salt and pepper Boy + Girl, circa 1910
Pair of ‘Sydney Souvenir’ salt + peppers, moulded as a Boy + Girl, in long coat & dress, their backs printed with views of Sydney including ‘Sydney Harbour and Heads’ and ‘Town Hall Sydney’
‘TL&K’ beneath crown, for TYLOR & KENT, LONGOTON, + ‘Made in England’
The ‘T K & L’ mark of Taylor & Kent was introduced in 1906, with the ‘L’ indicating their works at Longton. There were two versions: one includes ‘FLORENTINE CHINA’, and this lacks that distinction, probably meaning it is an earlier version of the mark that continued to be used into the 1950’s. The views on these are typical of the first decade of the 20th century.
