Peter Fergusson was British, born in Paris in 1903 and migrating to Australia some time after WWI. He was apparently self-taught in pottery, establishing a studio pottery in 1946 in the Sydney suburb of Turramurra, moving to Horsby in 1950 . He advertises for help – ‘glazers and dippers wanted’ – but it seems it wasn’t viable commercially, and around 1956 he gave up pottery, turning to painting instead.
