Rare Worcester blue and white pickle, ‘Bamboo Billboards’ c.1757


Worcester pickle dish of leaf form, painted in a deep underglaze blue with a very rare pattern, ‘The Bamboo Billboards’, previously only known from a single example, within a thick blue border.

Circa 1757-60


Fine condition, one very small rim flaw


9.5cm wide, 9cm high


ref. Worcester Blue & White II.B.6 for the only other example apparently recorded, which matched shards excavated at the factory.
