Ridgway milk jug of ‘New Oval’ shape, richly decorated with a wide band of gilt anthemion on salmon toned ground, reserved on deep blue with gilt embelishments, the rim with a gilt foliage meander and thick line edges.

minor wear only, a little staining beneath gold on handle
ref. Godden ‘Ridgway (1985) p29 for a dessert service dish in pattern 757, from a service datable to 1821. This pattern shares a lot of features with 757.
Also ‘Cabinet of Creamers’ #559 for a Ridgway example of exactly the same shape, with a very similar pattern.
