ref. Godden ‘Coalport & Coalbrookdale Porcelains’ (1970) pl 69 for a representation of this service, including the pattern book original design. The shape differs slightly from that shown by Berthoud in ‘Cabinet of Creamers’ – although is illustrated in Godden’s ‘Coaport & Coalbrookdale’ , pl73 where it is attributed to Thomas Rose; the problem is, this piece bears the pattern number that corresponds to the John Rose pattern book, as illustrated in pl.69.
