Large Roman bronze fitting with gilt detailing, the domed rounded disk finely detailed with four acanthus leaf motifs radiating from a central hole, the panels between containing wine amphora and grapevines.

Provenance: found in France, purchased 1990’s. The trace of giltwork shows this was a high-quality piece, perhaps the base of a standard oil lamp, with the stem passing up through the central hole.
