Large Dr Wall Worcester serving dish, of oval fluted form, decorated to the rim in thick green enamels with a sawtooth border, a similar smaller border to the center around a green flower with rich gilt foliage.

Condition: good condition, manufacturing flaws to the rim painted & gilded over, minor wear & signs of age.
This thick green enamel & design was a factory production – but was also done at the decorating studio of James Giles and his contemporaries. The existence of firing flaws beneath the gold may indicate it was a factory second, and sold blank from the factory, to be decorated by a London decorating studio – such as Giles:
