Large Scottish ‘Dancing Sword’, the steel & brass cage, blade & sheath chrome plated, the blade without an edge, with red fabric inset lining to the cage, with initials ‘MM’ and ‘BM’ incorporated in the design, a Scotch thistle in a diamond set into the front of the cage, a series of red glass ‘gems’ set into the moulded hilt.

Condition: some signs of age & usage, blade has lost some chrome, cage has had a break, small areas of wear to silver-plate
This is the sword used by the young (Lady) Marian Macmillan when she won the series of silver medallions in the early 1950’s we are also selling. It has her initials ‘MM’, but also ‘BM’: these may be her parents.
