Sèvres pâte dure (hard paste) plate with moulded scrolls highlighted with blue enamel, painted with scattered groups of flowers.
Marks: Crown & crossed “L”s for pâte dure (used 1769-93);
“….” in blue enamel for flower painter Pierre-Théodore Buteux (active 1766-1780);
“T.h.” in purple for an unnamed gilder whose mark is also on a cup in the Wallace Collection.
Condition: minor flaking to enamels, otherwise excellent.
