| References | there are signs of refiring (black specks to the foot trim) possibly an attempt to mask wear to the glaze, as the front has a series of 'melted' cut marks across the face. this was a method sometimes used to improve a piece in the 19th/20th century. the piece is definitely a genuine piece of Sevres, and has its original decoration. |
