Sevres porcelain dish, later decorated with cherubs, 18th & 19th century
$680.00 AUD
Sevres porcelain dish, of 18th century origin, the diamond shape with a deep ‘blue lapis’ ground, later decorated with cherubs & ornate gilding. 18th century porcelain, 19th century decoration.
31×25.5cm
worn, kiln speckled
This is a typical example of the redecoration of 18th century Sevres: the speckles on the back are a warning, and on the front, there is evidence of the original scattered flower decoration it once had: the removal of these previous enamels has left scars which appear in the glaze. The mark is most probably completely original.
