Chinese Export porcelain tea bowl & saucer, from the Nankin Cargo, decorated in underglaze blue with the ‘Pagoda Riverscape’ pattern with single lattice border to the rims.
Circa 1750
Good condition, the surface lustre is intact and shows no sign of seawater damage, small bruise to the cup the only damage.
Provenance: Geldermalsen shipwreck 1752, known as the ‘Nankin Cargo’, recovered by Australian diver Captain Hatcher 1983, not sold in the European auctions of the Nankin Cargo, brought back to Australia.
