Interesting Massim carved model canoe, with shaped tapering mirrored ends with splashboard & prow, the entire sides with finely incised scroll designs enhanced with lime, the top with a series of round holes.

An unusual object, with no obvious use as a tool or weapon; the series of holes along the top were intended to take an insert. An example in the Bishop Museum may be a clue: it is topped by a series of ancestor figures which fit into small mounting holes along the top.
