Staffordshire pottery figure group, with small figures of a girl dancing on a bridge, a man playing a lute to one side, an arch of tree trunks above, with a swan swimming on the swiftly running river below, the whole decorated with patches of colourful sieved clay ‘moss’.

The characters are identified as Catarina & Diavolino, from the Ballet ‘Catarina, ou La Fille Du Brigand’, first preformed at Her Majesty’s theatre, London, in 1846.
