Swiss pocketwatch with 18 carat gold case, Roman numerals face with separate seconds dial. Engraved inside back ‘Presented to G.W.Turner November 1912’ Works inscribed ‘MADE IN SWITZERLAND’ Gold hallmarks inc. London import mark, ’18’ and .75, inscribed sponsors mark ‘A.G.R.’ – 43879 Circa 1910

Condition

works well, not cleaned or examined but starts easily & keeps good time. The case has some marks. Interior rim of dial a little rough under outer case, not visible when closed up.

A.G.R. is a sponsor's mark used by Robert Pringle & Sons on imported watch cases,first registered with the London Assay Office by Arthur George Rendell on 25 June 1907. This allowed the items to be sold in the UK, and therefore in Australia.
