Georgian coin purse of unusual expanding form, the tortoiseshell panels inlaid with gold meander borders, one with a wide scrollwork cartouche engraved ‘LM’, the steel frame opening to reveal three main compartments and a secret sub-compartment in calfskin. Circa 1820

Condition

steel with dull patches, interior rust, the calfskin lining with flaws & stained

Size

7x5.5cm- 1.5cm thick
