Early Victorian pottery child’s mug, printed in brown with the letters ‘pP / Qq’ , alongside groups of items corresponding, ie. Parrot,Pigeon House, Pail, Perch, Poplar; Quart, Quill, & Queen.
Circa 1840
7cm high, rim 7.5cm
Condition: glazed-over chip to rim, short hairline; base with several chips & some staining, displays well.
Recorded on the Transferware Collector’s Club database as #12560, printed in green.
They state: “The source print for the pattern is illustrated in Shipkowitz 2002, p. 208 (Figure H20).
It is from “Child’s Treasury of Knowledge”. “
