WMF Art Nouveau WMF large table mirror, in a silvered finish, with stylised flowering trees and sweeping organic decorations, with an elegant lady peering into her reflection,
with original bevelled mirror and oak backboard,
Maker’s marks impressed to the back of one foot – WMF (bee hive with top quarter blank), E P (Electro Plate, over base metal), I/O (normal thickness of plating/gilding) and OX (Oxidised).

Wear to silver in small areas, some scuffing evident, mirror with very slight marks musky hidden behind frame.
This iconic Art Nouveau design from the German firm WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) was apparently officially entitled “The First Cuckoo”, but is often known as The Echo. It was manufactured in about 1906, and was shown as model 131 in the WMF Catalogue for that year.
