We buy!
Moorabool has a market for some lines of antiques – with the definition of ‘Antiques’ being over 100 years.
We are looking for pre-1900 items, the older the better: some exceptions include Australiana and Art Pottery.
Perhaps a list of what we don’t buy is helpful:
We Don’t Buy:
No records, toys (unless pre-1900), collectable figures, collectable china like Royal Albert , Ainsley, etc. – clothing (unless 19th century), and books are only interesting if of great age ( pre-1900) or rarities.
We do buy:
- Furniture – Victorian & earlier, Arts & Crafts, Australian, Georgian, English Oak.
- Ceramics – pre-1900, the earlier the better.
- Glass – only earlier, pre-1900
- Silver – Sterling or similar, not much Silver Plate
- Art – all periods, preferably pre-1950, rarely prints
- Natural History – shells, fossils, etc.
- Tribal – New Guinea, African, Oceanic, Australian Aboriginal, New Zealand Maori etc.
- Carpets – hand woven Persian
- Jewellery – preferably pre-1950
