Condition: signs of burial. On close examination, the colour of the clay on the head differs ever so slightly from the body, suggesting two fragments (of the same age & clay & location) have been very carefully spliced together at the ‘collar’ join.
Provenance: from an Old Australian Collection, Melbourne, put together mid-20th century, including many pieces from the ‘Holy Lands’.
