The ‘Coober Pedy Pottery’ was founded in the 1980’s and marketed as ‘The Underground Pottery’ due to the unique nature of Coober Pedy’s underground dwellings. They made a variety of stoneware pottery forms, including vases and bowls. Lower-fired majolica type plaques like this seem to be scarce. There is a pierced hanging point on the back.
