Chamberlain’s Worcester plate, richly decorated in a colourful Japanese ‘Kakiemon’ inspired pattern, with a central Oriental Garden with crane flying overhead, the border with large flower sprays spaced by butterflies, within a gilt line rim.

This plate was from a service in this pattern, all identical but bearing both the puce mark of 1814-20 and the black mark with wreath & ‘Royal Porcelain Manufacturer’ of 1820-40. They must therefore belong to the change-over period of the early 1820’s.
