Thomas Goode & Co, “home to the world’s finest tableware”, was established in 1827 – and still exists, operating from their 19 South Audley Street since 1845. The company has maintained the highest standard in luxury goods for almost 200 years. Holders of the Royal Warrant, they have included Queen Victoria and the Tsar of Russia as their customers.
The mark on this piece is a little unusual, having the South Audley Street address as well as ‘Grosvenor Square’. This appears on Minton pieces marked with Minton marks for the early 1880’s, giving a reasonable date for these beautifully painted pieces – the style of which was most popular in the 1820’s.
