Circa 600-550 BC

Good intact condition, with ancient staining & wear to glaze, no restoration
These curious vessels were oil containers, and therefore probably used by athletes and bathers at the gymnasium – a favourite pastime. The design allowed them to be suspended from the wrist by a small cord.
