Rare Derby figure of ‘Apollo’, shown standing with laurel wreath crown, playing the lyre in his arms, a classical fluted column to one side, standing on a low fluted plinth with chamfered corners.
Incised ‘N243’ (model number)
also a modeller’s mark, and painter’s mark ‘8’ in red,
‘patch’ marks (from firing pads)

Condition: Excellent condition, very rare for figures of the 18th century. Small shallow chip beneath plinth is the only damage; the cloak has 2 firing flaws, see photo. No cracks, wear, or restoration.
