Early Minton saucer dish, painted Chinoiserie pattern no. 539, c.1810
Early Minton chinoiserie saucerdish, painted rim-to-rim with a delightful chinoiserie including a seated figure in a ‘pavilion’, a landscape stretching out behid with rocks across the front & two large trees flanking either rim.
Blue onglaze Sevres-style mark around ‘M’,
pattern no. 539,
Condition: some small bruises under foot, small patches of ‘smoked glaze’ to underside only, rim with minor wear to gold, what looks like a chip is in fact a patch of the body that missed being glazed & was simply gilded over!
