Delightful early Staffordshire Pottery figural group of a girl & boy, standing either side of an ‘altar’ plinth with tree trunk branching overhead with leafy bocage decorated with scattered flowers, the whole on a rectangular plinth base with green & red ‘marbling’.

Circa 1810

Condition: tree trunk & branches broken & restuck, other flaws, displays well.

Ref. Schkolne ‘Staffordshire Figures’ vol 4 p213-4 for several examples of this figure, with the closest being 198.10.
