English delft jug, flower spray decorated, circa 1790
English delft jug of inverted baluster shape with corded neck &spreading foot, painted in blue with two stylised flower sprays.
London or Liverpool, circa 1760-1800
Ref. Archer V & A Delftware J32 for an identical example in the Victoria & Albert museum, South Kensington. Another is in the Liverpool Museum, painted with the name & address of a soy merchant who operated 1805-23, providing a rather later date than would be apparent stylistically. It is suggested that these vessels were used to sell soy in.
