Michael Sutty (1937-2003) was an ex-army ceramic artist, establishing a manufactory in Stoke-on-Trent in 1967. for the next four decades, they produced a remarkable range of finely detailed figures in the traditional English manner, in fine bone china, and nearly all of a military theme.
Their retail outlet in London was always a must-see, one of the few places to see the skills of a ceramic artist still making their art in England. In the 1990’s, there was a shop in the famous Burlington Arcade, alongside the best of the Antique & Art dealers – and the pieces looked perfectly at home, a testament to their quality & aesthetic excellence. The business closed after Michael passed in 2003.
