A Hope Service plate, by Flight Worcester, commissioned by the Duke of Clarence in 1789, the centre painted by Pennington with a depiction of ‘Hope’ with her anchor, a ship sailing through a wild storm in the distance, within a rich gilt border, the rim with a deep blue embellished with stars and rosettes.
