Rare Irish cut glass “Piggin”, with single handle and star-cut spreading foot, the sides with diamond cutting below a serrated rim.
Circa 1820
13.5cm handle to rim, 9.5cm high.
Condition: bruise to handle base, minor signs of age, displays well.
Glass Piggin’s were used for labelling milk, cream, etc. The single handle allowing them to be dipped. This example the serrated edge would be more suitable for table use than the kitchen.
