Large Chinese porcelain Qingbai type box, the lid well moulded with a flowering Peony Rose plant, the sides with ribs moulded to both pieces.

Note: while traditionally catalogued as ‘Song’, examples with the ribs & similar peony moulding were recovered from the Vung Tau shipwreck (c.1690) – and even the Tek Sing (1822!)
