(extending the known patterns of Machin up from 1333)
circa 1835

ref. Thom & Miller, -Machin- p87 for the shape, part of the Cheltenham Service. The pattern number is very high at 1411, with the accepted pattern numbers accepted as Machin only going up to 1333: there are however a series of superbly painted jugs, illustrated p145, which also have very high pattern numbers, suggesting they are a late period of high quality decoration, rather than the more simple patterns of the earlier period.
