Rare Meissen salt, the bombe shape with oval interior, decorated in the Schwartz lacquer-work style with a deep brown ground and tooled gold flower sprigs, the interior with a chinoiserie scene of a chinaman and a squirrel before a low table with a flaming candle. Crossed swords and * mark in underglaze blue, impressed number, Marcolinin period, Circa 1785
