Moulded lustre jug with ‘flower garden & stripes’, George Weston? c. 1815

$195.00 AUD

Moulded lustre jug, the buff coloured body decorated with purple lustre panels of stylised flower gardens, the ribbed ground with lustre stripes, the neck with a wreath of flowers.
Attributed to George Weston,
Circa 1815

14cm
Glaze craze stained, rim chips, very short rim crack.
The overall appearance is not actually staining to the body, but is an intentional original ‘buff’ coloration evident on every part of the vessel, including the handle. This colour also appears on the example in the literature.
