Pair of Mahogany work tables, drawers, cupboard & slide, c. 1835
Sold
Near pair of mahogany work tables, usable as bedside tables, with twin drawers one side, a fold down door the other giving access to internal storage with marble slab base, each with unusual low-profile sliding workbox beneath, on fine fluted turned feet, with dropside tops, one straight edged with cantered corners, the other serpentine.
Circa 1835
closed 36x57cm, open 55x70cm,
68cm high
Later modifications & repairs, some splits to veneer evident, signs of age, very usable.
The unusual format of these pieces suggests they were the product of the same workshop, the unusual layout being identical with just the top shape and leg details differing.
