Pair of Swan inkwells, English porcelain circa 1830

Remarkable pair of English porcelain Swan inkwells, the ‘Royal’ form with gilt crown and chain around their necks, their upraised wings shielding a square opening to an ink chamber, the high plinth bases with twin cornucopia quill holders within scrollwork, the whole picked out in gild and standing on four stylised dolphin feet.

All swans are owned by the British monarch, and therefore these are shown with gold chain & crown around their necks.    

A most unusual pair of inkwells, no comparable examples traced.
