Quality Samson of Paris snuff, in the St Cloud style with reclining shepherd with tricorn hat, on a high earty mound with kakiemon type flowers, the lid with a faithful replica of a kakiemon chinoiserie scene & garden scene.

arked under the lid with a red hunting horn (of Chantilly) & ‘SS’, for Samson of Paris, circa 1880
