Minton Royal salad plate, made for the household of Queen Victoria, decorated with a turquoise & gold border and crest with the crowned Order of the Garter, inscribed ‘HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE’, (‘shamed be whoever thinks ill of it’) around a ‘V’, a reduced cypher of Queen Victoria.
Printed ‘Mintons’ mark,
retailers mark for T. Goode & co, London,
date code for 1881.

Good condition with minimal signs of age, one small fleck of enamel touched-up.
