This interesting form doesn't appear in any of the books, and neither do the tea wares matching it with one important exception: a cup matching one of these pots appears in Berthoud's Compendium (1195) with a distinct double band handle being the link, along with the unique cup shape. This cup is marked with an impressed wreathed anchor, which is associated with William Adams. Best known for his pottery, the firm began in the late 18th century. Porcelain was probably made in the early 19th century, but remains un-identified. In 1818, he took over the potworks previously housing Thomas Wolfe (ie factory Z). By the 1840's, the pattern numbers had reached over 7,000, indicating a large production. They are not listed as making porcelain after around 1850. Very little is known about the porcelain of this interesting manufacturer.
