Rare Red Anchor Chelsea miniature figure of a child, shown carefully holding a frond in one hand and cradling it in the other, draped in a red cloth and standing on a grassy mound, a short tree trunk to the rear for support. Small red anchor mark, c.1755

Ref. Cheyne book of Chelsea 1925 exhibition, #112, illustrated pl16, for three similar figures described as Cupid. The style is very much in the Meissen manner, with a probable original source by J. J. Kaendler as yet unidentified.
